New firmware generation 3.0
Today we have released our new firmware generation 3.0. The new version is based on the current OpenWrt "backfire" and supports a much more efficient and powerful hardware range.
In our webshop the first hotspot routers are already available:
The processors have clock frequencies of 400 and 680 MHz, respectively. They have RAM memories of 32 and 64 MB, respectively. Due to their compute power they achieve three to four times more data throughput than our old generation.
Additional features are:
- Hardware-Watchdog
- Full support for OpenDNS based minor protection filters
- Support for private encrypted parallel wifi networks
- Support for 802.11n with up to 300 MBit/s
- Easy wall mounting
- USB-Ports
- Multi language web interface
The firmware will be continously developed. On our roadmap:
- Support for further hardware, e.g. outdoor access points from Ubiquity
- FairQoS for hotspot traffic management
- Failover to UMTS-Stick
- Access Point Monitoring
