Dr. Ulrich Meier

studied physics in Bielefeld, Dublin and Berlin. He developed an interest in the internet as early as 1992, when the information superhighway was still in its infancy stages. In 1995 he made the first websites for the university's physics faculty and met his later business partner and friend Joerg Ontrup, who was the Linux system administrator at the time. While writing his thesis at the Hahn-Meitner-Institut in Berlin he also studied economics at the Fernuniversitaet Hagen (distance university in Hagen, Germany). The vision of developing an innovative open-source based billing system for the internet brought him together with Joerg Ontrup again. Together they established hotsplots in 2004. Ulrich Meier acts as equal-rights managing director of hotsplots GmbH and is responsible for sales, service and accounting.
