Joerg Ontrup

was born in Bielefeld, Germany. In the early 1980's his first computer project was an Apple II clone he assemled together with his dad. Hence, it's no surprise that he chose to study computer science in Bielefeld and Dublin, Ireland. After earning his degree he worked for various IT companies and the University of Bielefeld for several years. Joerg Ontrup has published numerous articles in international journals and conferences and is currently pursuing a PhD in computer science. In 2004 he established hotsplots GmbH together with Dr. Ulrich Meier. As equal-rights managing director he's responsible for developing the HOTSPLOTS technology.
